The Mindray M9 is the top-of-the-line portable ultrasound machine from Mindray and builds on the previous M7 and M5 portables. It is based on Mindary’s new generation platform and single crystal probes which allows for better penetration and higher resolution. The M9 is targeted at the portable high-end cardiac market with full cardiac features, transducers (including TEE), and full measurement packages. It can be used about 90 minutes with the built-in battery and with a trolley mounted battery pack it lasts over 3.5 hours.
The Mindray M8 Elite is a new and upgraded shared service portable ultrasound system from Mindray’s portable M line, using the M9 and M7 as its foundation. The Mindray M8 Elite integrates a 15.6” touchscreen display on a conventional control panel, overall improving the intuitive controls and quality of operations. The Mindray M8 Elite offers users a fully-featured platform with outstanding image quality with single crystal transducers and 3T technology. The M8 Elite is a clinically versatile for the bedside, private offices, and interventional suite. With a large range of transducer selection and fully-featured platform, the Mindray M8 Elite makes a great fit in vascular, women’s imaging, and shared serviced applications.
“CX” stands for Compact eXtream and the Philips CX30, like the more powerful CX50 is the most portable Philips product to date. The Philips CX30 offers a lower price alternative to the CX50 by lowering the number and power of the probes offered. None of the purwave probes from the CX50 are available to the CX30.
The GE Logiq-e is perhaps the most well-known and best selling portable in the world, and designed for abdominal, cardiac, gynecology, intraoperative, musculoskeletal, obstetrical, nerve block, pediatric , neonatal, small parts, superficial, urology, and vascular. The BT12 is the most recent model before the GE Logiq e series has revolutionary changes both S/W and H/W at the Logiq e R7. It is a midrange to economy system with a good balance between features and price. The Logiq e BT 12 has been empowered with new GE portable ultrasound Hard Ware and Software, also added L8-18i-RS high frequency hockey stick transducers enabling to support more dedicated interventional procedures. The Logiq e replaced the older Logiq book with a more standard laptop style form factor.
The SonoSite M-Turbo improves upon the Micromaxx with even sharper imaging, while retaining the rugged portability SonoSite is famous for maintaining. It is the most popular compact PoC portable and offers many applications and procedures such as regional anesthesia, MSK, and EM which have been developed and expanded over what the Micromaxx offered.
The Sonosite EDGE is a fifth generation portable PoC ultrasound machine from the brand that built that segment. The screen is noticeably larger than previous models(12.1″) and a solid aluminium core helps to protect the system with the legendary SonoSite rugged durability. A splash resistant silicone keyboard makes cleaning and disinfection that much easier. The Edge superscedes the older M-Turbo.
The Mysono U6 is an upgrade to the earlier U5 model by vastly improving the cardiac functionality of the system, making the U6 one of the few portable systems to offer true shared service with 4D OB/GYN and general imaging, and true CW Doppler and Cardiac reporting. The U6 is a smart and lightweight system with greatly ameliorated resolution that provides the most accurate clinical outcomes for quick and efficient work. The low price of the U6 matches the similar Mindray M7 while maintaining higher reliability over time.
The Samsung SonoAce R3 portable ultrasound machine is an easy to use, EMR-compatible OB/Vascular, GI system that provides one-touch image optimization & great connectivity at a fantastic value. The R3 replaced the popular Pico and was succeeded by the Mysono U5 but remains in production.
The Samsung UGEO HM70A is the first fully Samsung designed portable ultrasound machine and is the successor to the MySono U6. It is the only shared service portable ultrasound that offers both cardiac and 4D for OB/GYN and it does both very well. It is positioned at a midrange price point.
The Samsung UGEO PT60A is the first PoC dedicated handheld ultrasound machine made by Samsung. It is shaped like a tablet and has an easy to use interface. It has a great advantage over it’s competition with advanced needle enhancement, a full touch interface, and quick image optimization.
The Siemens Acuson P300 delivers the grade best 2D image quality with variously available set of transducers in order to approach mulitple clinical applications with strong diagnostic confidence at compact midrange.
The Siemens Freestyle is a wireless and focused point-of-care ultrasound machine designed for abdominal, nerve, obstetrics, gynecology, small parts, vascular, and musculoskeletal applications.
The Acuson Freestyle is the world’s first point-of-care ultrasound system with wireless transducers. The system provides outstanding flexibility and mobility while scanning within a wireless range of up to 10 feet (three meters) from the system.
Considering the target market and more procedure-related applications, the Siemens ACUSON Freestyle supports one convex and 2 linear transducers. The maximum frequency for linear is 13 MHz, but lacks any advanced transducer options. Additionally, the ability to operate the system from the transducer with integrated system controls introduces a more efficient level of workflow and enables the creation of a different user interface in hospital or clinical environments.
The Siemens proprietary, Pixelformer image-processing architecture, may help customers have a more uniform gray-scale image format. Also, in order to provide better procedure experiences, the Siemens ACUSON Freestyle offers enhanced needle visualization that allows for better-advanced needle visualization for simpler clinical procedures. To improve user convenience, the needle visualization enhancement setting can be stored with user-defined Exam Types for each customization.
The SonoScape E2 is categorized as an economy portable Color Doppler ultrasound system that is designed for abdominal, cardiac, gynecology, musculoskeletal, obstetrical, pediatric, small parts, cephalic, urology, veterinary, and vascular exams. More advanced hardware and software platforms has been developed from the older generation model, the SonoScape S2. The SonoScape E2 integrated a number of advanced imaging technologies such as the full digital broad band width beam former, wide band dynamic range and multi-beam parallel processing. The SonoScape E2 is a fully equipped ultrasound from very basic clinical screenings to in-depth and full exam profiles with high-end options such as Auto IMT, Spatial Compounding, Auto Image Optimization, Stand-by Mode, Enhanced Needle Visualization, Panoramic imaging with 2 standard probe ports, and 15.6″ LED monitor. Unlike the SonoScape E1, the Sonoscape E2 meets higher customer requirements in modes such as continuous Doppler, Tissue Doppler, Simultaneous, and Bi-directional Doppler modes. The Sonoscape E2 shares the same system architecture with the Sonoscape E1, however the SonoScape E2 incorporates more options that enable to better cover clinical applications and workflow.
