The Siemens Freestyle is a wireless and focused point-of-care ultrasound machine designed for abdominal, nerve, obstetrics, gynecology, small parts, vascular, and musculoskeletal applications.
The Acuson Freestyle is the world’s first point-of-care ultrasound system with wireless transducers. The system provides outstanding flexibility and mobility while scanning within a wireless range of up to 10 feet (three meters) from the system.
Considering the target market and more procedure-related applications, the Siemens ACUSON Freestyle supports one convex and 2 linear transducers. The maximum frequency for linear is 13 MHz, but lacks any advanced transducer options. Additionally, the ability to operate the system from the transducer with integrated system controls introduces a more efficient level of workflow and enables the creation of a different user interface in hospital or clinical environments.
The Siemens proprietary, Pixelformer image-processing architecture, may help customers have a more uniform gray-scale image format. Also, in order to provide better procedure experiences, the Siemens ACUSON Freestyle offers enhanced needle visualization that allows for better-advanced needle visualization for simpler clinical procedures. To improve user convenience, the needle visualization enhancement setting can be stored with user-defined Exam Types for each customization.

Its innovative breakthrough adds additional value to enhance clinical and operational efficiencies at point-of-care, especially applications closely related with procedures such as MSK, surgery, nerve block, etc.
With zero cables, the Siemens ACUSON Freestyle maintains sterility much easier with a customized, compact sterile sheath for faster preparation time to quickly begin procedures. System controls on the transducer means a single user can remotely operate the system without any assistance. The transducer batteries last up to 90 minutes of continuous scanning and the transducers and batteries are capable of full immersion in high-level disinfectant for safer and more effective infection control.
The ACUSON Freestyle mobile link app wirelessly connects to your Microsoft Windows device and allows you to access, save, and share ultrasound clips, images, and patient data.
Available image modes include B/W and Color Doppler. The gray image quality is superior compared to other systems at the same grade, but the ACUSON Freestyle is limited in regards to certain applications such as MSK and Nerve Block, so cost efficiency is one of its weak points. The price-point based on its target market is a bit higher and the coverable applications compared to Logiq e and Mindray M7 are limited.

The Supersonic Aixplorer is the premier Elastography system available in Ultrasound today. Though it was not the first brand to offer Elastography, the major brands are trying to catch up with it’s proprietary ShearWave technology.
