GE NextGen Logiq e Ultrasound Machine

$18,100.00

The NextGen GE LOGIQ e is one of the most popular portable ultrasound systems covering a wide range of applications. Since it launched in 2006, the GE LOGIQ e has been upgraded every year with different BT (Break Through) versions and various features and probes to strengthen its usability, especially in Point of Care applications. The LOGIQ e R7, in particular, has an outfit similar to the GE LOGIQ e BT12, except the internal H/W and S/W has been fully upgraded so that its image quality, system response time, features, and probes are one or two levels higher in quality or performance than those of the Logiq e BT12. That said, the GE NextGen LOQIG e has a price point of about $18,000 to $28,000, slightly higher than the BT12, even with the same options and probe configuration. Review

GE NextGen LOGIQ e Portable Ultrasound Review

Physicians who are considering owning a high-end portable ultrasound system for general imaging, musculoskeletal, anesthesiology, interventional, emergency, and critical care applications will find the GE NextGen LOGIQ e R7 to be an excellent option. Due to its high-end software operations and modern CPU, the NextGen LOGIQ e’s system response time is dramatically improved compared to the GE LOGIQ e BT11 and LOGIQ e BT12 with no lagging. Also, the number of channels on the NextGen LOQIG e is double that of the LOGIQ e BT11 and LOGIC e BT12, so the image quality, especially grayscale cardiac imaging, is vastly improved. However, the GE NextGen LOGIQ e R7 has less-optimized Doppler images compared to portable ultrasounds such as the Mindray M7 and Philips CX50. Even though the purpose of owning a portable system may not necessarily be to perform dedicated cardiac applications, the GE NextGen LOGIQ e R7 is still an excellent choice with a price point starting around $18,000 up to $28,000.

Technology

GE NextGen LOGIQ e Software

Auto Optimization

• Auto Optimization is a one-touch image optimization function that a user to optimize the image based on the actual B-mode image or Pulse wave Doppler data. The function works based on preset levels (Low, Medium, and High) and allows users to pick a preference for the contrast enhancement in the resulting image. Low does the least amount of contrast enhancement, high does the most. Auto Optimization is available in single or multi-image, on live, frozen, or CINE images (in B-Mode only), while in the zoom, and in Spectral Doppler. Auto Optimization in PW Doppler Mode optimizes the spectral data. Auto adjusts the Velocity Scale (live imaging only), baseline shift, dynamic range, and invert (if preset). Upon deactivation, the spectrum is still optimized.

CrossBeam (Spatial Compounding Imaging)

• CrossBeam (Spatial Compounding Imaging) obtains real-time sonographic information from several different angles of insonation and combines them to produce a single image. CrossBeam helps reducing speckle artifacts, enhancing mass margin delineation, and improving anatomical details.

Virtual Convex

• Virtual Convex is available on linear and Sector probes. Virtual Convex provides a larger field of view in the far-field. Virtual Convex is always active with sector probes.

Raw Data Software

• Raw Data is a software tool that enables image processing, quick data re-acquisition, and image analysis with the same resolution and same frame rates of original images. Raw Data helps shorten exam duration, improves clinical workflow by post-processing, and reduces a time to put the probe on a patient.

LogiqView (Panoramic Imaging)

• LogiqView (Panoramic Imaging) enables a transducer to be moved along a larger organ, stitching multiple images together to form one long image with an extremely wide field of view.

Auto IMT

• Auto IMT automates the measurement of intima-media thickness of the vessel. Auto IMT helps keep tracking atherosclerosis diseases from the early stage as it is developed.

B Steer

• B Steer simply slants B-mode or Color Flow linear image left or right to get more information without moving the probe and enables enhanced needle visualization in real-time for needle guidance procedures. The angle steer function only applies to linear probes.

Anatomical M-Mode

• Anatomical M-Mode helps improve the accuracy of arrhythmia assessments and cardiac measurements. It enables to provide M Mode images truly perpendicular to the ventricular septum.

eSmart Trainer

• eSmart Trainer provides modules showing basic scanning techniques, with graphics of probe position, anatomy, and example clinical image. Similar to Scan Assistant.

Flow QA

• Flow QA (Color and PDI Quantification) helps a user evaluate the amount of blood flow within a region of interest, to assist with diagnosis and monitoring.

Patient Follow-up Tool

• Patient Follow-up Tool is used when a user monitors the patient’s condition, therapy, or progress over time, the NextGEn LOGIQ e automatically recalls all of the imaging parameters, comments and body patterns to be identical to the previous exam. It provides an alert if a user uses a different transducer than last time.

Needle Recognition Mode

• Needle Recognition Mode provides an accurate display of the needle, anatomy, and motion even in Color and Power Doppler, and includes the ability to adjust needle gain and angle. Available on all linear probes
