The Philips Affiniti 70 is a high-end shared-service ultrasound machine that was developed in 2014 based on the premium EPIQ 7. The Affiniti 70 looks nearly identical to the EPIQ 7 and EPIQ 5 and offers many of the same features, including single crystal PureWave transducers. The Philips Affiniti 70 also has many of the same technologies as the EPIQ series ultrasounds, including the QLAB onboard quantification set and ShareWave elastography. A unique feature of the Affiniti 70 is that it offers ShearWave. As a shared service ultrasound machine, the Affiniti 70 excels at cardiology as well as women’s health, vascular and radiology ultrasound applications. Philips ultrasounds are most well known for their cardiac imaging superiority, but the Philips Affiniti 70 also features high image quality for its price level. An alternative system at a lower price point is the Affiniti 50, although only the Affiniti 70 has the PureWave transducers and ShearWave Elastography. The Philips CX50 is a shared service ultrasound machine largely used in radiology and OB/GYN practices for cardiovascular applications. The CX50 launched in 2009 as the first Philips portable ultrasound and soon became recognized as one of the most advanced portable systems in the world. The Philips CX50 continues to this day to be one of the only premium portable ultrasounds that supports both PureWave single crystal and xMatrix transducers. The only major imaging capability the CX50 doesn’t have is 4D imaging for OB/GYN applications. However, the CX50 can offer 4D imaging for cardiac applications using an X7-2t xMatrix probe. The compact size of the CX50 means it fits well in surgical, emergency, and point-of-care practices where space is tight and mobility is important. All versions of the CX50 except the initial A.0 revision are stable and reliable. In terms of the average price, a refurbished Philips CX50 ultrasound costs between $27,000 and $42,000, depending on its age, degree of past use, optional features, and whether it comes with transducers. If you are looking for a powerful portable ultrasound with high-quality imaging and advanced features built-in, then the Philips CX50 is worth considering. The GE Voluson E8 is a premium women’s health 4D ultrasound machine. GE’s breakthrough technology for the Voluson E8 was HDlive, a revision with high-resolution 4D imaging introduced in 2012 and a standard feature with the Voluson E8 BT12 and newer revisions. The Voluson E8 was considered GE’s top-of-the-line ultrasound system until the Voluson E10 was released in 2014. The Voluson E8 is also considered as one of the best-selling 4D ultrasound machines in the world even though it is in a higher price range than some of its competitors. The average price for a GE Voluson E8 is from $22,000 to $37,000 for a refurbished system, depending on its age, condition, amount of use, and revision, as well as the types of probes that come with it. Like other Voluson ultrasound systems, the Voluson E8 is designed for women’s health applications, including obstetrics, gynecology, and fertility. Secondary applications include general imaging, adult and pediatric cardiology, and neonatal cardiology. Physicians who are looking for shared service capabilities from a GE ultrasound, meanwhile, may consider the GE Logiq E9 instead. The Voluson E8 is furthermore considered a leading ultrasound for providing 4D imaging in a variety of clinical situations. It even offers a rare 4D linear probe and a 4D neonatal cardiac probe. Contact Ultrasound Supply, a Probo Medical company, for more information about Voluson E8 pricing and availability, or scroll below for more information about the Voluson E8’s specifications and features.

The GE Logiq E9 is a premium shared service ultrasound machine capable of top-of-the-line women’s health and 4D imaging along with clear imaging for radiology, cardiac, and vascular applications. GE’s breakthrough technology with the Logiq E9 is XDclear, an imaging technology that uses advanced transducers with a single crystal, acoustic amplification, and cooling technology to improve image quality, especially at deeper penetration when image quality typically fades. For even higher imaging quality, consider a GE Logiq E9 with XDclear 2.0, which is GE’s full-featured system for general-purpose diagnostic ultrasounds.
The GE healthcare Logiq E9 is suitable for a multi-application clinic. Compared to other GE models like the GE Vivid line, which specializes in cardiovascular applications, and the GE Voluson line, which is focused on women’s health and 4D, the GE Logiq E9 can do both of these applications as well as radiology and general imaging. Conversely, medical professionals who plan to use the Logiq E9 system exclusively for one or two applications may instead consider the GE Voluson E8 for OB/GYN and 4D applications or the GE Vivid E9 for cardiac applications. The Logiq E9 has been in production since 2009 and is both stable and reliable, even in older versions dating back to BT11 (also known as R3 or revision 3). The starting price for a refurbished GE Logiq E9 is about $16,500 but could be as high as $26,500 depending on its condition, age, features, degree of use, and whether it comes with transducers, which could raise the starting price to about $19,000. Scroll down for more information about the Logiq E9, including specs and clinical image examples. Or contact Ultrasound Supply, a Probo Medical Company, for more information.
